As of late 2016, Google has moved from their GCM platform to FCM. To learn how to create and add your FCM ID & Key, please refer to this documentation: http://documentation.aimtell.com/docs/adding-custom-fcm-id-key
To set up your own GCM ID and Key follow the following steps:
1. Create New Project on Google Developers Console
Head to https://console.developers.google.com and create a new project.
2. Select APIs for the project
From Use Google APIs, select Enable and manage APIs:
From the Google APIs list, select Google Cloud Messaging:
If the API was added successfully you will see a page like this:
3. Get credentials
From the API Manager menu, select Credentials, click the Create credentials dropdown button and select API key:
Click the Browser key button:
Give the key a name. Leave the HTTP referrers field blank and click create.
Grab the API key and keep it handy nearby
From the Home page, get the Project Number. Keep it handy nearby
4. Add Credentials
Head back to your aimtell dashboard and then go to "View Websites" > "Edit" > "Advanced Settings". Once there, add your API key and Project ID into the corresponding fields. Hit save/update.
5. Update your manifest
Last but not least you'll need to update your aimtell-manifest.json file that you uploaded to the root directory of your website. If you haven't downloaded it yet (ie you just added your website) you can find this "View Websites" > "Edit" > "Installation".
Simply open the aimtell-manifest.json file and update the "gcm_sender_id" field with your Project ID and upload it back to your server.
Congratulations! You have now successfully added your own GCM keys.
