Re-engage potential customers who have viewed a product page.
The Aimtell Push WordPress plugin grants website owners the ability to trigger events within the Aimtell ecosystem for users that have viewed product pages.
Install and configure the Aimtell plugin for browse abandonment.
-
Install the Aimtell Push plugin if you have not already done so.
-
Navigate to the WordPress admin portal on your website.
-
In the left menu, navigate to Aimtell Push > Settings.
-
Enable the WooCommerce abandoned browse checkbox.
-
Decide how long you’d like the system to wait before assuming abandonment has occurred. Enter that value in the WooCommerce abandoned browse delay (minutes) field.
-
The default is “10”, which means that after a subscriber has viewed a product page, a 10 minute timer starts. If they have not purchased the item after that point, they will trigger a “
Aimtell
" “WooCommerce-Page-Inactive
" event in Aimtell.
-
Create a “WooCommerce abandon browse” campaign.
-
Log into https://dashboard.aimtell.com/
-
If you have the Aimtell Push plugin installed, you can quickly log in by navigating to Aimtell Push > Aimtell Push, signing into your Aimtell account, and clicking continue to your dashboard.

We need to create a browse abandonment campaign, which will be a trigger campaign. So navigate to Triggered Notifications.

-
Give your campaign a name (it can be “Abandon Browse”, or any name you like, but a name is required). Click Create Campaign.
-
Fill out the necessary information in the Content tab (title, body, link, etc).
-
Click the Trigger tab to begin adding data necessary to take advantage of the browse abandon event that Aimtell will be tracking. This is used to deliver yor push notifications to subscribers.
-
In the Event Category field, enter
Aimtell
-
In the Event Action field, enter
WooCommerce-Page-Inactive
-
-
Click Activate to save and activate the campaign.
That’s it! Now, when subscribers visit one of your product pages on your site, this will start the browse abandon process.
If the subscriber proceeds to navigate away from the page and/or head off to their cart to purchase it, then the abandon browse event will not occur.
If the subscriber remains on the page, and does not go on to navigate elsewhere or head to their cart to purchase it, the Aimtell scripts will trigger a Aimtell
WooCommerce-Page-Inactive
event, which will deliver the newly-created Trigger campaign.
