Which platforms/browsers are supported?
Aimtell works in every major browser that supports standard web push. Your visitors only need a current version of their browser, and there is nothing for them to install.
| Browser | Desktop | Mobile |
|---|---|---|
| Chrome | Windows, macOS, Linux and ChromeOS | Android |
| Firefox | Windows, macOS and Linux | Android |
| Safari | macOS | iPhone and iPad, on iOS and iPadOS 16.4 or later |
| Microsoft Edge | Windows and macOS | Not supported |
| Opera | Windows, macOS and Linux | Android |
| Samsung Internet | Not available | Android |
iPhone and iPad
On iPhone and iPad, visitors can only subscribe after they add your site to their Home Screen. Your site also needs a web app manifest. See iOS Web Push on Mobile Safari for the setup steps.
Browsers with extra steps
- Brave on desktop blocks push by default. Visitors need to turn on Use Google services for push messaging under
brave://settings/privacybefore they can subscribe. - Microsoft Edge on Android may not deliver push reliably, so we don't list it as supported.
Where push doesn't work
- Private and incognito windows.
- In-app browsers, such as the ones that open when you tap a link inside Facebook or Instagram.
- Internet Explorer, which Microsoft has retired.
TIP
If a subscriber's browser is supported but notifications still don't show, check that the browser itself is allowed to show notifications in the computer's or phone's system settings.
